This video is really good. A bit simplistic but a powerful sentiment.

Thinking about the world, crisis upon crisis one on top of another. Politics, politicking, vested interests, strained resources in a world of plenty. Interventionism and passivity both exacerbating problems. 'Ethical' foreign policies sit alongside massive arms trades. Pandemics, lined pockets, starving populations, poverty (home and abroad), jihad, cultural imperialism, rouge states, police states, government torture, leaders cynically maneuvering for the tabloid press. Things are not good in the world right now. And don't I just love to hear about it? Enjoying sounding cleaver and wise but not doing anything.

What would happen if we all ENGAGED with the difficult, unsolvable, thorny issues facing us? In prayer and protest and action? If we chose to get involved and to love? To place one hand in the dirt of the earth and raise the other to heaven? Will we help each other to look to God and to act and not just watch our TV's and mouth off? Please help me to.

A bad morning with spoons

You know you've overdone it when you go through 3 spoons while trying to eat one bowl of cereal, the first two flying out of your hands and crashing to the floor as you lift them because your reflexes are so bad. This may be down to the fact that I've not been to bed before 3am for the last 3 days... whos to say eh?

Party's are generally good things but I'm realising that they are very unpredictable. Four of them in 3 days have underlined this for me - you just can't tell in advance which way they will go ... or maybe its my response that I can't predict. Hyperactive, depressed, honest, cynical, raw, defensive, deflective, kind, mean ... I've run the gauntlet this weekend. On the whole I had a great time... I'm just uncomfy with how I felt at times. Still, its fun dressing up and dancing like a loon...

Welcome back

Hello. Its been a while. Since we last spoke I have moved house, been to Italy, made a documentary, become a painter/decorator, been on a ferry and shot a film. How've you been?

I spent today recording and feel I've done my best work ever in a recording studio, knocking out a track which sounds ... well, very good. So I'm happy about that.
