The Saints Are Coming

This video is really good. A bit simplistic but a powerful sentiment.

Thinking about the world, crisis upon crisis one on top of another. Politics, politicking, vested interests, strained resources in a world of plenty. Interventionism and passivity both exacerbating problems. 'Ethical' foreign policies sit alongside massive arms trades. Pandemics, lined pockets, starving populations, poverty (home and abroad), jihad, cultural imperialism, rouge states, police states, government torture, leaders cynically maneuvering for the tabloid press. Things are not good in the world right now. And don't I just love to hear about it? Enjoying sounding cleaver and wise but not doing anything.

What would happen if we all ENGAGED with the difficult, unsolvable, thorny issues facing us? In prayer and protest and action? If we chose to get involved and to love? To place one hand in the dirt of the earth and raise the other to heaven? Will we help each other to look to God and to act and not just watch our TV's and mouth off? Please help me to.

Absolutely, we need to "redeem the time" as the phrase is - make the most of it in engagement and love like you say. Prayer is the way to give these intractable, overwhelming problems to God knowing that He has the answers. This is a great call to not become cynical or overwhelmed but to bring some of heaven to earth!
Keep cool.
